The CPM 154 was heated up to 1965 F, soaked for 25 minutes then plated quenched, then tempered at 975 F twice for 2 hour each, with a resulting Rockwell hardness of between 59 - 60.

I do not do cryo, doing cryo only gains 1 to 2 points of hardness. I do not believe that you would be able to tell the difference in the performance.

There are always engineering vs cost trade off to consider when making a product. I think for the cost involved I have a high quality process. I could invest in the equipment the Jay does but then my process cost would be in the $2000+ range like his. If one of my knives fails from normal use I will repair or replace. I would be glad to sale you a knife, but I understand if you prefer something else.

Thanks for you interest and consideration.
