Let me start over, I have been using o-1 for awhile now and ready to add another steel to my inventory. I am looking a cpm 3 v but open to sugestion.
O-1 hunting knife- 2" thickest point 7" oal with a 4" cutting edge
Tactical in o-1 1 3/4" 6" blade 10" oal. I take the o-1 down to .035 and heat treat, temper.
My question is can I take the edge down to .020 or less before heat treat and temper. Will this steel hold up for a tactical style knive? and can or will it take a mirror finish or should have a satin finish. Or is there another steel that you would recoment, my hart is not set one way or the other.
