It's a fun place and my parents bought the house almost 30 years ago. Did you go to the rib shack next to Austin's?? Great BBQ! And the home made ice cream store on the second floor of that plaza across from the dunes is pretty good too (on the other side of Austin's)! Sorry the fishing wasn't steller, it can be hit or miss. I've had my share of skunked trips but 1 out of three still gets you on base.

Have you tried a little WD-40 and some 0000 steel wool to see how it comes off?

That and some warm water should get the surface rust off. Or just call Guy. It'll have a nice patina when you're done, granted it'll be under your scales.

I took a green scotch bright with some water to remove the rust. The rust got under the DLC coating and I removed DLC coating that was with the rust. I did not take pictures after rust removal. Just think where the dark colors are, yeah just change it bright color instead.

OBX351, yes that is #177 it is a second. Guy had it laser marked and the had it coated afterwards and if I remember correctly he did not like it. You can see the number in the first picture about 1 inch from the right edge of the picture. The only way I would get rid of it is if I had a new 5.1 with HT for 3V and new G10 texture in earth tone colors and Kydex in Spring FDE. Care to trade? The spine has 90 degree edge, thank you Guy for doing that.

I think I almost bought that one. Mine is #189 exactly the same and I didn't figure out it was numbered until I had it for about 3 months. It was part of a test batch like yours. I believe Guy changed the color and ultimately added the laser engraving after the coating. I might take you up on that offer in a few months. I am having too much fun with my new 5.1 to trade it.

Hmmmmm. For some reason it looks WAY bigger than my old style 3.5. I wonder if it is because my 3.5 is black DLC, they say black is slimming after all.
