I'm unsure of exactly how to word things (I noticed there were no old posts in here to use as a "template"), but the description of this part of the forum matches what I want, so I thought I'd stick it here. I pre-apologize if this assumption was incorrect.
As the title states, I'm curious how much a ground and HT'd "blank" made of 1/8in CPM - 3V that was very Becker BK16 sized/shaped would cost.
EDIT: I've learned that CPM-3V may be out of my price range. I'm now requesting quotes for the same style knife made out of A2 as well.
I've been lurking a bit in the Custom fixed blade for sale area and I've yet to see such a knife quite like this sold, particularly one sold as a blank. I have no idea what it would cost, and therefore have been having a hard time figuring out if this is just another one of my harebrained ideas. Hence this exploratory research. And for the record, the reason for it being a request for a "blank" instead of a finished knife and sheath is for cost reasons, and also satisfaction of finishing it myself. I've done two handle scale jobs so far, so I think doing the handle scales + sheath for a blank is the next logical step.
The idea behind the 1/8in thick CPM-3V "BK16" is pretty well hashed out in my original thread I posted in the general knife area. I "believe" that I am still wanting a blade out of that type and thickness of steel (1/8in CPM-3v), but I'm also open to hearing other suggestions for the uses described in the thread. I will defer to the experience of experts if you all say I'm not making any sense.
