Thank you all for your helpful suggestions and comments. I looked at the blade with a magnifying glass and one side of the bevel was about half as wide as the other. I used diamond rods to even it up with the Sharpmaker on the "back bevel" (30 degrees total) setting. With the help of a Sharpie marker I can see that the two sides of the bevel meet in the middle and it does grab my thumbnail a bit. After I get a better magnifier I will carefully work down through the sharpening grits. I will post a followup when I am finished with it.
