CPM Cruwear is no joke

I don't have CRUWEAR but I have it's ingot predecessor Vascowear and it's pretty easy to sharpen with a Crystolon stone and a coupple of swipes on a ceramic rod and you're in business

Certainly up there among my favorites, though I only have one knife in it. Hard to believe I've had this thing for 7-8 years now, and I can't see anything new ever knocking it out of the rotation. I'd have to say it's my favorite knife made outside of Idaho.

EDIT: On the topic of corrosion, that's not patina BTW. I acid washed it but then brushed it afterwards instead of stonewashing. I do recall it having a stain on it from something before I did it, but never any noticeable rust. I will say that it gets quite a bit more pocket time here in the dry summers than in the damp PNW winters, but I'm not sure if that's really necessary.

What scales are those?

They are made of TeroTuf, from a company named Fireside. I believe the color was called seafoam.

(If I remember correctly, which I often do not 😉)
Do you like them better than micarta? It looks like Fireside may be out of business...

Yea, I bought them a good few years ago, and I don't see a site for them anymore. I like them equally as well as micarta. I just dug the color so I grabbed em. I'm down home in Florida for the month so I can't compare it in hand at the moment. This knife came from the factory with CF as a Knifecenter exclusive around 2016-17

Who says it is no joke?

A one-liner:
CPM CruWear is so tough, even its edge retention has commitment issues.

A two-liner:
Why did the CPM CruWear blade refuse to go to the party?
It said, "I'm already hard enough on my own."

A three-liner:
I told my friend my CPM CruWear knife needed sharpening.
He looked confused and said, "Isn't that the steel that laughs at the concept of wear?"
I replied, "It is, but my ego is getting dull."

Shall I continue?
