So i've just got a kershaw leek CB, with the cpm-d2

I've heard that D2 will micro chip easely. I've think i've read something that cpm d2 is a completely different beast.

My question is, what would it compare to performance wise?

I was under the impression crucible was no longer making it because there wasn't much of a performance improvement above regular D2.

I've never had a problem with my Dozier knives in D2 chipping at all.Don't know about CPM D2,never had any blades made from it.

I own two knives with D2. William Henry E6 and Benchmade Bone Collector. They have both performed admirably thus far. I have done some thumping on the BM. It has held up very well. The main thing is I am careful to steer clear of anything that might have pieces of metal in it, just in case. I honestly baby the WH. I have no doubt that it will hold up. Just so darn beautiful.

I have a one knife in CPM D2 and a couple in tool steel D2 and I have not experieced any chipping what so ever. Thus far CPM D2 steel is my favorite steel to date! I don't know what it would compare to. I have 3 knives in CPM S30V and I much prefer CPM D2, and for that matter even 154CM.
