This knife I have affectionately dubbed the "SMK" for Stuart Modified Kephart.

What a fun build this was. And sharpening it was fun. I was expecting it to be worse, with all the added vanadium.
Putting a finish on the blade was not so fun. The steel acts like it resists being abraded by the sandpaper.
CPM M-4 should give a noticeable improvement in wear resistance over other carbon steels due to it's carbide structure, which remains small due to the CPM process, which translates to better overall edge stability.
I'm very excited to offer this knife/steel/ combination for sale here at Bladeforums.

Some specs:

OAL: 8 15/16"
Handle: 4 5/8"
Blade: 4 1/4"
Cutting edge: 4"

.130" CPM M-4 steel from Niagara Specialty
Cryo Treated by Peter's Heat Treating Service to 64HRC
.015" edge sharpened to 15 degrees per side 1800grit US
Handle is walnut treated with Danish Oil and coated with TruOil

The knife will be shipped with a simple, small leather sheath. It's nothing too special, but I use it on my hunting knives and love it.
As with all of my knives, for the life of the knife I will re-polish the blade and sharpen the edge for no cost, with the exception of shipping.
Asking SOLD Free delivery to anywhere in the lower 48 States.
Paypal is accepted. samuraistuart@yahoo.com
Thank you so much for your interest! If there are any questions, I will be glad to answer.

Thanks. I've been using a Spyderco mule in CPM M4 in the pasture on every type of Texas critter, from whitetail and hogs to axis deer, elk, and nilgai. M4 is a great cutting steel and holds up well. This knife looks a little more appropriate as a hunter than the mule and the hardness is a little better than the M4 in my mule.

That, and it looks like it's made right down the road from me.

Spyderco does a decent job with m4 but I bet the heat treat from peters will be even better. I have a couple custom M4 knives and the edge retention surpasses my spyderco Gayle Bradley. Enjoy your new knife. Russ

Sold to gimmeadeal!!!! Thank you sir!

I will have a few other hunter/utilities to offer in CPM M-4 in the future!

Stay tuned!
