Up for sale is this large bolo style chopper made from CPM M4.
Heat treated in my evenheat oven, plate quenched, and then sub zero tempered (dry ice & kerosene) followed by 3 normal tempering cycles targeting 62.5 RC
Handle materials are burlap micarta with canvas micarta and G10 liners and canvas micarta pins.
Note: This knife was previously listed but I am relisting and dropping the price $100 as I made a mistake that resulted in about 6 spots of rust that made small pits. I cleaned the blade up and then put a forced patina on it and oiled it this time. The rust happened after I made the sheath and rinsed it out to clean out any abrasives and kydex dust and the 6 hrs that I let it dry for apparently wasn't enough and a couple drops of water must have remained when I put the blade in and stored it for a few weeks. The blemishes don't show in the pictures and in no way affect the blade but I know they are there and therefore have decided to cut the price.
:edit: I should also add that it was resharpened after forcing the patina to shaving sharp
OAL: 17 inches
Blade: 11 inches tip to scales
spine: .135" or 3.4mm
width of blade at thickest point is 1.75" not counting the ricasso/heel which is 2 inch
Asking price is --- $200 --- which includes shipping to the CONUS, add $10 for international shipping
Payment via PayPal can be sent to kirbys65@hotmail.com
Thanks for looking!
