CPM-M4 Griptilian with carbon fiber handles

I wonder if M4, which is carbon steel, is advantageous for a folder. I'm not sure that S30V or S90V is not better for a folder.

Dan Farr wrote that the advantages of carbon steel only comes into play with larger blades, where enough energy can be developed that the increased toughness is useful.

Isn't their M4 harder than their S30V? Wouldn't this make for better edge holding and the ability to take a finer edge?

Maybe you guys knew this already, but if you didn't I wrote Benchmade to see if they sold the scales seperately:

Mike,

I'm sorry but we do not sell the carbon fiber handle scales separate from the knife. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to let us know.

Have a good day!

Has anyone been able to find one of these for less then $300? Lowest I can find is $360, which is unfortunately more then I'm willing to part with right now.
