JNewell already has his in hand and has posted a youtube video on the Spyderco Forums.

Looks like the GD73 and I posted at the same time.

Based on the video I feel confident that I'm going to like this knife even more than I thought I would and I thought I'd like it a lot!!!! Great job Roger and Sal!!!!

I'll have more to say later, but I will say this - I was not prepared for the feel and quality of the knife I got. I have quite a few CRK folders, and an SnG that you saw in the video. Without taking anything away from those knives, the C36GTIP is easily - in terms of F&F, not "hard use" capability - the equal or better of the SnG and takes a run at the Sebs. I sort of hate to say that because the comparisons don't really work - there is too much that's different - but this is easily the nicest Spyderco folder I've handled, fully up to or above what I thought was the best they'd ever done (the ATR C70PTI, which was reputed to be near-custom quality). I'm thinking that some of those who have committed to sell theirs may have some serious second thoughts after they open the box... :(

Question John. Didn't hear you mention it and couldn't tell from the photos but is the blade centered and what percentage would you say the lock engages at (looked like maybe 50%) but as I say, couldn't really tell?

The blade is perfectly centered, at least by eye. No mike at hand. ;) Engagement is approximately 50% on this one.

Looks like I had pictured it in my head, need to hold it to fully grasp the concept though.. one more day.

Thank you. I figured someone would ask sooner or later so why not get it out of the way. Never had any doubts it would be done right.

On the theory that a picture is worth a thousand words, I posted a 1-minute video "reply" to this in the other thread - seeing is believing...so they say... ;)

That's normal. Mine will say that the whole time then it will say "arrived at blah, blah, blah out for delivery" or words to that effect. USPS doesn't necesssarily update along the way like UPS.

What is your expected date of delivery, today?

USPS doesn't necesssarily update along the way like UPS.

That's been my experience over the years. It's not really a tracking service, IMO. With some shipments, you get lots of updates, at other times, you get nothing more than the initial electronic notice, and the package just shows up without further updates.

The expected date of delivery is today. But it went 2000 miles in the wrong direction. I hope this isn't normal.
