CPM MagnaCut Warping

I used a manosnry drill bit with my ball peen and I successfully straightened 15 blades!! I will be making a legitimate tool for this problem very soon!

I was having similar warping on magnacut. Once i started giving them just a wee bit longer between the plates and I haven't had a single one warp at all out of 50 blades or so or so. Just my two cents.
I'll give that a try!

Congrats Cypress Creek Knives Cypress Creek Knives !

Evidently the carbide god's governing the straightening process aren't too particular about the type of metal. I just straightened some .050" titanium scales. Much better than the 3-pin-vise-process thingy.
The 3-pin vise method led to three MagnaCut blank breakages and countless other blades over the years. I am glad to be done with that method. The carbide hammer method is a little bit more time consuming, but I get a super straight blade and am at very little risk of breaking anything. I think that is a solid trade off.

I frequently straighten blades with a carbide hammer and can work through a stack of 30-40 blades in 45-60 minutes with very little risk, this method works great for even super thin stock up to 1/4” thick stock as well. Personally I think it is the easiest way to straighten and make small adjustments.

Thanks again for the advice everyone. Also, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my membership!

I think it was so time consuming for me because I was using a drill bit and hammer, similar to using a punch. Once I make an actual tool and I develop some technique it should go much quicker!
