Wow! What is that rex-121 steel?

I'd never heard of it before. Apparently it's like the ultimate high speed tool steel, designed for ridiculous hardness and wear resistance.
It's got these stats, typically
Carbon 3.4%
Tungsten 10.0%
Chromium 4.0%
Molybdenum 5.0%
Vanadium 9.5%
Cobalt 9.0%
Sulfur 0.03%

Quite the super steel, it appears... And really quite amazing for a knife. That thing will probably hold an edge for years, but I bet it'll be a pain in the butt to sharpen (if you let it get dull ;))

Impressive work, farid.

Farid my friend, what an outrageously extreme knife ! Did the idea come to you on the top of Everest ? I have been worried about you since the Spring climbing season there had so many deaths.
I would love to own this knife, but love can't buy me knives as your friend Paul says.
This is the King of Knives for somebody.
best to ya, roland

Hi Farid, I love the steel that you work with. Is it likely that you'd make another big knife with this steel soon? As a lover of all things chopper/sword related I'm looking for the "unbreakable" showpiece to culminate my collection. Thanks!

Please pm me and tell me what you like to have.
thanks.

Roland my friend how are you, It was very sad that many people died a few weeks ago.
The idea for this knife came to me when I wanted to make a knife with a hard steel but extremely light weight so this was the result.
Hope you are doing fine, let’s talk soon.
F

Hi Farid, not sure why the forum won't let me pm you, but basically I'm looking for something in the mode of a 1~2 handed cutter, akin to a busse gladius size-wise, lightweight yet tough. Please email me if this is something you'd be interested in.
