CPM S110V steeling

Yes, with commercial grade knives, steeling works. As they are basic stainless, 420. But on my S90V blade a steel will correct
a rolled edged to about 40%. To correct the rest I take it to my fine diamond coated steeling rod and work it lightly, edge trailing. After 6 strokes it is tuned, back to it's original edge. I'll test how durable this edge is. DM

The hard bits (VC) in S-110-V, Rockwell at about 82. I have several Buckcote blades that are coated with TiAlN which Rockwells at 92. The next time my high Vanadium knives slow down, I will steel them on a hard coated blade. The ZrN and TiCN coatings are also harder than Vanadium Carbide.
