CPM10V HELP!!

Is anyone using CPM10V for blades and if so what are it's pros and cons?
I thought I'd seen a thread on this previously but couldn't find it.

I recently made a knife of 10-V. I have very little experiance in field use of 10-V however. The stuff was hell to grind in the annealed condition due to the Vanadium content. I had a very snappy heat trat and hardened up very well. With what little cutting I did with the knife I think it will be a great edgeholder, but may be a bit brittle and will corrode easily. Thats about all I know about it other than I have another small bar of it that I dont want to grind! It is rather expensive also, approching Talonite in cost.

I don't remember where, but I've seen references to someone using a 10V blade to shave hardened ATS-34. Also one of the Engnath memorial blades was(is) 10V.

Rob, what did the rockwell on the knife test to? The corrosion aspect, what does it compare to? Could you post the contact info. for a materials supplier too.

After a freeze treat, the full hardness was Rc68, I tempered it back to Rc 62. The corrosion resistance is about like CPM 3-V or A-2. The customer supplied the steel and he got it from Crucible. I believe the web address in www.crucible.com, if that dosen work do a search.
