CPM154 ht question

Do CPM154 and 154cm heat treat the same? I know they're the same alloys but I've heard references to their HT being 'similar' (i.e. not exactly the same). I ask because I have knife ready to be sent out for HT that was marked as CPM154 when I bought the bar (I actually ordered 154cm and the invoice says 154cm, but the bar is clearly marked CPM154. I'm not complaining.). I typically send steels like this to Texasknife — they do 154cm but if CPM154 is different, I don't know if they'll do it.
Thanks,
Chris

From my limited knowledge they are the same metal composition, with different "assembly" procedures. :)

CPM is "assembled" from powdered ingredients. This will cause a more even distribution of the different materials based on grain size of the original powder.

Both of them H/T the same. Same alloy just different manufacturing techniques.

one thing to remember given the same HT the cpm is often 1-2 pooints harder (tho maintaining the tuffness of the lower hardness non cpm)
