big thanks to J. Neilson for letting me use his big chopper as a starting point. but as i don't really do stick tangs and guards this is what i came up with. other point of info this one is ground a bit lighter then J's chopper at the edge so its more camp less chopper
here are the specs
cpm3v with a spine thickness of .270 inch distal tapered blade is 9.5 inch from the plunge to the tip over all its 15.5 inches long (5.5 inch handle)
RC hardness of 60-61
blade is A65 gator belt finish for ease of clean up
the handle is black and red burlap "burl mycarta" of my own making
carbon fiber pins and a AL thong hole
red/black para cord included
no sheath made yet so you have the option of $450(less sheath) or $500 for belt sheath in black kydex

Very nice! I like the machine finish. I'm sure that it would hold up to chopping quite well and would cut soft woods brilliantly.

edge not finished yet as no sheath (no use burning fingers on kydex to then cut ones self on blade :) )
the blade pre hone is .025ish thick didn't know it would have been better at .035-040 with a convexed edge
seems i make more kitchen .015-010 and razors .010 or less :o

Dang, Butch, that's sweet! I have one similar to that profiled out on the bench right now. I know what you mean about the stick tang thing. I'm trying one with and one without, just to see... Once again, very nice!

Awesome! I really love that style of blade. Great handle shape, I think that style guard would be perfect for a heavy user.
