Hey, not to upset the Karambit folks, but just got me a CQC 11 Blackhawk.

Man that is one great knife, best SD folder I've ever handled:thumbup:

Comfortable handle, enough front and rear guard, but not too much to make manipulations awkward, Long sweeping recurve blade that seems to start and inch beyond the guard, making seem even longer.

The alignment in the grip of the tip and belly make it a more natural extension of you hand than many other knives I've got.

This is gonna be my exclusive carry for a good while.:D

i wouldnt have any concerns but then again i live in tx were 5.5" is ok.

i wish EKI would make some larger stuff like 4.5", a super duper CQC7 if ya will lol.

Yes Sir! I would NEVER carry an outsized blade in any state or locality where I knew it was illegal.

In VA there is no size limit on a "pocketknife", so I think I'm OK.

Hey Sifu, I remember you liked that REKAT Sifu, still have them? I got to handle them when they existed, and remember thinking the egronomics were awkward at least for me. The ergos on the 11 seem more fluid than other big knives I've handled like the Aftermath, and recently the Ruckus. Seems like the bigger the blade on a folder, the more important the ergos...

I just picked up an 11 too. I can't see myself using or carrying it, but it is cool. It has a great WOW factor when you wave it out.

It's really too big for my hand; I don't really benefit from carrying something that looks particularly mean. I don't know, I'll give it time. My friends will love it. But I'm not going to carry it just to show off.

I have what I consider to be small hands and it fits mine great, saber and reverse grip. The egronomics are top of the line if you ask me.;)

yep used to love the REKAT sifu, till they kept having lock probs and cutting my fingers lol, lock of the 21st century my rear end. imho if ya want a large folder these days get a cammilus maxx, 2X the quality and F&F on any REKAT.

I lost touch with EKI knives a few years back, was a big Commander fan but found the Spyderco Millie and Al Mar S2k, Strider, Microtech, Sebenza, etc -got distracted.

The CQC 11 hooked me again. Viewed throught the lens of a bit more experience, the EKI ergos remain superlative, as with the Commander. The QC on my 11 is first rate, but I've never really had an issue with EKI quality. Lock up on my knife is tight, and it arrived as sharp as any of my Spydercos or Microtechs.

Still not a big tanto/chisel fan, but the EKI recurves are remarkable knives. I would also note the edge on the 11 is ground on both sides. It is asymmetric, but not a pure chisel grind. It is much easier to cut with than the true chisel grind found on the CQC7.

Nimick, I've got a CQC 10, plain edge, satin finished blade that is a little smaller than the CQC 11. I've been wanting to trade up though if you'd like to turn your 11 in for something just a wee bit smaller.

thanks for the offer but I need money more than a different knife right now.

Congrats DonG!

Every now and them there'sa knife that I want as a carrier/user, but also want one that stays untouched...This is one of them.

Come on Tax Refund! (Man, lately I feel like I need knife addiction rehab!)

Glad you like the knife and the vendor. Our own Matt D is a good source for a lot of things also.

Vinnie, where you get the info?

I think I got here on the forums that it's 3" in DC, 2.5 in Fed buildings I know all to well (recent incident in my building w a Buck Mayo TNT). And counties can make it more restrictive so I can see Fairfax doing 3"...

BTW what to you carry, and do you need a CQCC-11 :-)
