Concerning Fairfax Co., I found it online somewhere, but can't find it now...I've been looking for an hour.
I did find here that over a 4" blade is prohibited in Fairfax County parks, except for food prep...
This might be what I was talking about, but it pertains to schools, so maybe the county in general has no such law? Now I'm even more confused!
As for D.C., I could be wrong, it's happened once before!
You're right though about the 2.5" in fed. buildings, I was at the Holocaust Museum last weekend w/ my parents when they were visiting, and we heard that announced over their p.a. system while we were in line for the metal detectors.
I carry a CQC-10, I just leave it in the car (with my gun) if I go into a building with metal detectors, etc., or put it all the way down in my pocket if there are none.
I like the CQC-11 also, though I don't have one.
