CQC 15 what do you guys think?

Ive been eyeing one for a week or two. I allready have a CQC 8, 10 and had a commander. Those of you that have one or have handled one what are your impressions?
 
The 15 is the only EKI I dont like, It combines a recurve with a tanto point so I was never going to be a fan :p

I know some folks have had good things to say about the 15 and you know
its going to be as good a knife as any other EKI so if you like it I say go for it.
 
I agree with Haze. Why didn't Ernie use a battle proven traditional Japanese blade??
 
Im not a fan of recurves at all and a tanto point would not be my first choice so that kind of kicks the 15 in the nuts for me.

The handle on the 15 is good though, as they are on all EKIs, but that blade is not my thing at all.
 
The CQC-15 is for me, one of those knives that I appreciate the design of, but is not very high on my 'must have' list. It would make an excellent soldiers knife due to the advantages of the strong tanto point and the aggressive cutting of the recurve. That said, it would be a major pain to field sharpen and still keep the secondary tanto point. It could be done with a pocket sized round ceramic, but would require some care.

I like the looks, appreciate the design, but I would only buy one if I happened to be 'cash heavy'.
 
I'd go for the 15 with a major discount. The 15 looks like a real workhorse. :thumbup::D

You have very good tastes in Emersons. I have the same models you do as well as the 15. The 15 is like a pointy version of the commander. The tanto is really not a bother to me sharpening or using. My commander is SE cause I figured its a boat knife so serrations are great at rope ( even if you don't like them for anything else). So if your commander is PE take a look at a 15 SE so its real different from the commander. I will say this the 15 is my favorite Emerson. Hey, they are tactical folders why not get the one that is the most tactical.
ps, I also have a karambit, but thats a whole other beast.

i like the '15s, i like the custom '15 better though the one i saw had a really cool grind.

Thanks, guys, now I have something else to obsess over. The more that I look at the 15, the more I like it. Darned forums anyway. :p
