Well, I finally got one! After looking all over for a retailer who had stock, I finally just got one directly from EKI and I am very impressed.
Despite the perspective distortion, the 7V is identical in size to the 7B.
The 7V is such a fine looking knife that I just can't get enough of it. Notice how the thumb disk has been burnished.
The fit and finish is excellent, as is the centering and lockup.
One of the most noteable differences from the 7B, other than the blade grind, is the use of aggressive texturing on the tan G10. Needless to say, the grip is very secure. Some may wish to smooth the texturing, but I like it, as it goes in and out of the pocket with no problem.
It should be noted that the blade action was smooth out of the box and the titanium locking liner is easy to release, yet secure. In short, if you are looking for a high quality EDC, you need look no farther than an Emerson CQC-7V.
