Narrowed it down to these three and I'm leaning toward the Pacific. Cost is not a big issue, although I would like to get a good bang for the buck. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Those are all awesome knives and I have nothing against 1095 either, love it. But out those it's really a toss up of the CR and the LC. Out of those 2 I would chose the LC without hesitation. As bladefan stated it's a beautiful and wonderful knife to handle. I have the Extreme Judgment and its the most awesome knife I've ever handled along with Busse' line. The edge holds very very well, not sure in comparison to the CPMS30V. The CR looks like an awesome knife as well however it's pricier (I know you said thats not a concern but who wouldn't want to save a few bucks) It has a finish that will wear leaving it less "appealing" to some. Like i said not sure about the edge holding but the 3V is extremely tough and holds its edge better than my D2 knives which is awesome. IDK man, I pretty much put Busse and Fehrman in their own leagues. My votes for the Fehrman.

EDIT: I just checked Crucibles charts on the wear resistance and it appears CPMS30V edges out 3V slightly in that department however I can assure you the 3V is absolutely outstanding. Both im sure will perform up to your task.

Fehrman for its 3V. CRK Pacific a very close second for its serrations (Eric Fehrman has mentioned that his shop does not do serrations).

Def. between the CRK and Fehrman...

A friend of mine had a Fehrman LC but he didn't like the handle ergos...

I don't like serrations myself but they're not a major factor on the Pacific.

Just to throw a curveball out there, I would also consider the Busse line up. There are always options like the awesome Hell Razor and Ash 1 going on the Exchange.

Also look at the Swamp Rat Chopweiler...

Sorry to muddy the waters but thought I would mention it. These blades are very highly thought of.

Thanks for the input guys. I would def consider a ASH but trying to find one that is for sale, NIB condition and with the characteristics I want is kinda tough. I dig the LC a'lot but if you add the spec ops sheath that comes with the Pacific they are about the same price (actually the LC in satin+spec ops sheath is more but not a big deal). I gotta be honest, I was hoping to get some bashing two outa the three to help me make up my mind http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif as this knife won't be a safe queen, I might just go with the LC in satin and pick up a Pacific at a later date.

Go with your gut and get the one that makes your heart do a little leap when you look at it.

Forget everything else, at the end of the day, its what appeals to YOU that matters most.

If you just WANT one, follow Buffalohump advice. It would be easier for us to help you out if you told us what do you want to use the knife for. I don't know about the CR but I am sure the Ferhman is quite thick. Last time I checked their website they clearly stated that their knives where not meant to be slicers so... if you want a general purpose knife that will take some abouse while allowing you to do some bushcraft (carving, notching, etc)... maybe, the RAT-6 is what you are looking for.

If you want a chopper, get the Ferhman.

I want it ALL!! lol seriously though, I am looking for a survival/combat knife. I'm not a soldier so the combat would be limited to fending off rabid squirrels on a camping trip. But I do want good hand retention if I do need it for self defense (i'm growing less and less trusting of the populace as a whole, being a jail guard will do that to you). All though I view the defensive aspect of any knife as the first thing I look at and take the most serious, obviously it's probably the last thing it is used for. Also, if i'm pounding on my knife to split wood then things have gone horribly wrong and i'm not worried about hurting my knife, just surviving. Ive watched some of the review(abuse) videos on YouTube and I must say that I can't envision any knife being put through that kinda beating in ANY survival situation, sans digging yourself out of a concrete prison cell. So in writing this Ive decided, although I will most likely end up with all of them eventually, I'll go with Pacific. It makes my heart flutter!...............that is unless I can find a ASH that fits my taste! :-)

Hold on... hold on... If things have gone horribly wrong and you are splitting wood (somehow I find myself splitting wood in more than pleasant day hikes though...), then you NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNIFE AND YOU BETTER WORRY ABOUT IT! If you happen to break your only knife you are in trouble.

BTW, the videos you have watched on youtube, are probably from Noss here in BF. He has his own website where he puts to hell a number of blades to see how much abuse they can windstand.

You said that money is not an issue but... well... I guess that if I were looking for an ASH, I would worry more about it fitting my WALLET than my taste. All the Busse line seems too expensive for me.

Get the Fehrman it chops, slices and probably dices very well !!

I say the Ferhman. Chris Reeve doesnt heat treat his knives very hard, so the 3V will have better edge retention and it's also a tougher steel, so chopping will be much better with it too. and the Fehrman is bad @ss looking!

I could see how that would have been taken the wrong way. Obviously if i'm relying on my knife for survival purposes then I want one that won't break easily. What I men't by that was that i'm not worried about blemishing and/or dinging it up. If Noss is the guy wearing a hockey mask and welder's gloves than yeah, thats who I was talking about. God bless him cause I wouldn't shell out that kinda cash just to purposely try and destroy a good knife. I just don't see any survival situation calling for a KNIFE to do some of the things he does in his reviews. But they are fun to watch!!

I think you really need to handle all of them. I've played with a Pacifica and didn't like the handle, especially with gloves on. YMMV. No experience with the LC or RAT6. I have a smaller RAT that I love.
Knives are funny like that, sometimes you think it looks perfect and then it doesn't sing in your hand. Find a couple and get a feel for the feel. Hopefully one will speak to you.

another vote for Fehrman... Great knives, one of my favorites

 Looked like a user to me. I'd put it up against most other 'combat/survival' knives out there. Why do you think otherwise?

And people tend to think that about Chris Reeve's knives because of the videos on knifetests.com. Just don't hit it with a 3lbs hammer and your good IMO
