CR Umnumzaan, rope and cardboard testing.

In the past you have said CRK runs their S30V too soft. Do you still think that? How does this compare to other S30V? Would it fall in your 4th group for edge holding based on what you have seen so far?

It performed well, won't know the hardness until I hear back.

Seems to perform like Spyderco's S30V at 60 RC.

The hardness on the ZAAN blade came in at 59+ HRC so I was dead on in my educated guess. :D

Still lookin good:thumbup:.
It's amazing that one can literally "cut a tree down" with a mere pocket knife. And to think, some people actually have to hack away at it with a large blunt blade:rolleyes:. I'm not quite done yet, though I'm taking my time with this one. Mostly did it for s**ts n' giggles because the idea of whittling away at a tree(albeit a small papaya tree) with a pocket knife was humor I couldn't avoid:D.

I did a bit of light prying with the blade, though I avoided putting any pressure on the tip and used the middle of the blade to pry the pieces out. It held up very well and the edge could still slice paper afterwards.
