I batoned green oak 1" dia, also my firewood collection, which is (cut three weeks) oak about 1 1/2" and used 2" oak as a baton. That's it! Nothing more.
That's Estwing's Sportsman's Axe. A Hatchet really. They have one 12" long and one at 14". About 1.5 pds. Nice handle. Leather sheath. Inexpensive. Decent steel and will last a lifetime.
Yes as long as it's less than a year old and he has the receipt. In my experience Cold Steel tries to come up with reasons to not warranty an item instead of taking care of the problem. That knife only has a 1 year warranty and they require a receipt for proof it is within that year and that you are the original owner.
I wouldn't think a 1" diameter stick would crack a blade right in the middle even if blind folded and swinging wildly with a hammer.
Yep, AXES are good! .......but have no fear for, Blade Master is here and has a new blade already at the hardners and awaiting it's return. This one is a full flat grind, which I like better anyway. This knife is too good waste.
please post pics when you assemble it.
Out of curiosity how much for the replacement?
Email me if you don't want to post it here.
I have a Lawman as well and would love a FFG blade for it!
