I read and search often on these forums and have learned an awful lot. I made my first few knives with a borrowed craftsman 2x42. While searching craigslist to buy one of my own (wanted the older 1/2 hp instead of the newer 1/3), i found a package deal that included a 1/2 hp 2x42, a bench top 5 inch drill press, and a 1x30 craftsman grinder. And, what a deal I got. I've seen many posts regarding the HF 1x30, and of course the craftsman 2x42, but I have never seen this before and really cannot find any posts or google info about it. With that in mind, I thought I would share.

Those are pretty popular with wood craft people. I've seen a number of them in garages and homes through the years. Good for small detail work and would be useful for handles and bolsters I'd think. My mom has had one since the late eighties or early nineties that she used on wood cut outs that she hand painted if my recollection is right.
