I was at my local Sears store last night and noticed that Sears is selling a close copy of the schrade tough tool under the craftsman name. They also had a small tool similar to the leatherman micra.I was wondering if anyone had a chance to check these out.The large tool was $59 and carried the craftsman guarantee. They looked interesting, though I don't think I will trade my leatherman wave for one anytime soon.

I bought a few of the micra like tools. I think they are made from Schrade and I like them. Are you referring to the scissor model and locking tools that open from the front? Actually a good design.

They also have the Kershaw tool under their name.

Can't beat the Craftsman guarantee, though.

I forgot to mention the kershaw style tool.I think I liked it best.I may have to add one to my collection.Do you happen to remember the price on that one?

Craftsmen has a close copy of the original leatherman, the shcrade tough tool, the leatherman micra, and the leatherman crunch/kershaw multi tool.
They all seem to be of pretty good quality. I don't like the design of the tough tool very well, but the craftsman version was kind of cool becasue it had replaceable/changeable implements that you could buy right in the store with the tool.
I think I'll stick with my Gerber though

I just have to say it. I am loving my new Leatherman Wave. You can never have too many locking blades on a multi-tool.

I use the Craftsman with slip joint pliers at work and carry the Schrade Tough Tool at other times.I would agree that the design of these is not as sexy as some of the other tools out there. But since these were my first purchases, and I use them the most,I work quite well with them. The Leathermans and Gerbers are tops in my book, but I don't put them to actual work use enough to fully benefit from them.Like I always say, even if a POS is getting you out of a jam, stick with it!
