Craftsman Schrade Western Hunter?

Gary, that would be a Schrade 497. There were four patterns, the 491, 497, 498, and 499, that were part of the 49er series put out in the early seventies. As with many Schrade patterns, this one was also sold as a Craftsman brand. Nice knife!!
Do a search on Ebay under those model numbers for some pics with sheaths, or go to www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us and search the catalogs for more info. I think they started in 1971 or 72?.

Thank you both for the information. The pic of the sheath is nice, because I occasionally run into sheaths without knives, and now I will have an idea of what that kind should match up with.
