Most yes to that lesson. I would have eventually flipped most of then in favor of newer version with the thicker liners and stonewash finish. Of the 26 I had, 23 were black coated partially serrated blades which ended up not to my preference at all. The 1 I kept was stonewash Horseman from 2011 which I gave to my friend Dan for his first Emerson/EDC knife. Most of what I have now is mostly stonewash finished blades which I prefer. The older Emerson production knives were all coated blades in black or silver. The customs and ECA knives are satin finish but out of my price range or simply didn't have the funds to make a purchase when available. I don't sell my Emersons anymore
