just got my ka bar bk9 in the mail and am going to return it first thing. opened up the box, pulled out the knife and first thing noticed that the blade was ground with a GIANT dip near the hilt, making it look some sort of a pirate cutlas. next the handle has some sort of smudge stain on it, and is offset near the hilt. the blade is warped, and and bent on the swell. I hate to say it but I cant beleive that ka bar mailed that peice of crap to me. I am very upset. I have ground bevels with my bench grinder that were better than this.

D154, can you take pics of this? I would be interested in seeing them. Ka-Bar will stand behind the product if it is defective as it sounds here.

And the clip point is ground extremely sloppy making it a flattened out peice of garbage. Im getting my money back.

how do i download pics? haha sorry im new to foruming lol!
The best way is to upload them to an image hosting site like Photobucket and then link to them in your post using the

Hard to believe you got a knife like that. Would be interested in photos as well. Give the knife a second chance by mailing it in for a replacement, since this wasn't your fault at all. That or contact the seller and get a new one that way. The bk9, along with all the others, are very well liked. Has to be a dud.

From what I can tell in that photo, the tip does look pretty bad.

Sucks that you got a knife like this, but I am sure you'll be taken care of via Becker/Kabar or whomever you bought it from. Certainly possible for a sub-par product to get shipped out.

ok so I ordered it through amazon, but from the sounds of it I should contact ka bar, and ask for a new one. I just dont think its worth it though if i have to pay fifteen bucks in shipping. For that i would just assume return it to amazon.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS WHY I LOVE ESEE KNIVES

I have 2 from amazon, a BK2 and a BK11 - both were spot on.

There is a Becker specific forum on the site here - Ethan Becker monitors and responds to a lot of posts. Go over there and post this - I am certain they will make it right.

wow. it didnt even come with the bk13 like it said it would.

That is amazons fault, not Becker's. Plus you'll be taken care of via Becker and probably only have to pay shipping to them. The bk13 no longer comes with the knife from what I know.

Was it Amazon directly or another dealer through Amazon? Sounds like a sloppy deal to me and I'd feel like you do.

Hopefully amazon since I'd imagine it be easier to deal with.

On a side note, I've seen item description errors on both amazon items and items sold through other dealers on amazon.

This is why I only buy knives from dealers who I know will stand behind what they sell and give me good service. I have bought knives from Knives Ship Free, Howes Knife Shop, Knife Works and The Knife Connection. These guys only list knives in stock and they always back up the products if there is a problem. It is worth a few extra dollars for peace of mind to deal with a good dealer.

it was sold from Reds Gear, through amazon. so I take it to Amazon/Reds Gear then?
