Crappy knives aren't useless afterall!

Ha!...Ive been making one for boy at the mo, out of some 440A monolith that i bought years ago and paid too much for....(not a bad bit of steel actually)....unfinished project.........................Fes

Dood....I've got a hammer handle around somewhere and a few crappy knives worthy of creating such a thing! Inspiring!

I kept a "crappy" knife in my toolbox just for mooches. It wasn't so expensive if the borrower damaged it that I felt like wringing their neck.

My crappy knives are the ones I don't mind abusing. I won't mention why (long story involving my pos blinds) but I needed to cut the top off a few coke bottles right behind the flange at the end of the cap. The plastic is really thick there and even the sharpest of knives have to be forced through it. So I set the bottle on a scrap board, laid the blade of my cheap Smith & Wesson knife on the bottle and smacked it with a hammer. Took a couple hits but the top popped right off. The edge rolled like crazy and now the knife seems a bit harder to open. In hindsight it was pretty dangerous but, I got the job done and I get to play with my wicked edge some more.

I'd use something like this Clamptite Tool to bind the tang into the handle...
