Crappy knives

My most expensive knives are the ones that get carried and used the most! If I'm going to spend serious money for a sharpened piece of metal I expect it to earn it's keep. :-)

Chuck, not to be a PITA, but I'm concerned with your choice of username.
RH, he had been posting a sig line apologizing for the confusion, but the username is based on his own name, and even so he had asked about changing it. Coincidences abound!

Here's what he had posted:

PS, I'm not Chuck Buck the CEO of Buck knives, my name is Charlie Buckalew, hence, Chuck Buck. I want to get a name change but i think it cost $10. Maybe I'll terminate my account and make anew one. Any helpful ideas here would be appreciated as well.

Thank you

Charlie

My $10 Opinel is the only knife I carry. Easy and inexpensive to replace, sharp enough and tough enough for any camping use I've encountered in the last twenty years, and no one's going to hork it.

I know what you mean, you get this knife which is in top condition, and despite having the latest steel and whatnot, you just don't want to test it that hard.

Eventually it goes away though, I use my camillus EDC (154CM version) for most tasks. I won't abuse the knife (no prying and anything seriously damaging), but I have used it to scrape paint and do a bunch of other "real" tasks.

I connot fathom using a Fallkniven in anything other than "good" environmental conditions, like the rain, or in the mud for instance. I couldn't let myself do it. I'd sooner chew on something with my teeth, than use one of my prized possesion knives for doing any dirty tasks. Although I probly will someday. I'm just not emotionally prepared for that just yet.

BTW, it's a very good knife, but also cheap.
It's around 6" in lenght, but it has a thin Kraton Blade with an A2 blade,
it has a bead blasted finish, also I've seen this same knife with the Bark River and AG Russel stamp on it. What's up with that? I don't know, but I think it was produced in a factory somewhere and it had a lot of extras, an awesome beater knife, I'll post a link.
