Crappy Movies You Love

tremors is the recurring theme here. id like to say, that i grew up on that movie. its the first r movie i ever saw (on tv in all its censored glory). it is the best movie ever.

i often get requests at partys to recite the whole movie verbatim. and i can do it with very few errors.

ahhhh.....yes!

down periscope. love that one, and from what i have heard more of a realistic submarine movie than crimson tide.

My dad served on boomers during the Cold War. He loves Down Periscope, and still watches it on VHS.

Crimson Tide pissed him something fierce - to imply that tens of millions of people might die because the Alabama's radio is busted, and the missile launch order can't be rescinded, was absolutely ludicrous. He gets so mad he won't even talk about it anymore. Great acting and all, but of course Hollywood ain't known for realism.

I was going to say Joe Dirt also but I thought it was considered a Classic, not crappy.

A little Joe Dirt story:
My youngest Grandaughter (Approx. 5 at the time) viewed Joe Dirt, and apparently really liked the guy. We were talking about it and I referred to JD as Joe Deer-Te, like he did in the movie. She gets all puffed up and says "No, Joe Dirt"!. I decided to be a wise guy and repeated Joe Deer-Te.
Little brat punched me in the parts. She won that round.

I had to some more to the list...

Return of the Living Dead
Get Carter (Stallowend Version)
The Last Boyscout
Step Brothers

Raising Arizona- It was pure brilliance.

Great thread!!!! :D
I'm surprised it took so long for someone to mention Blazing Saddles!!!
No one has mentioned The Blues Brothers either! That flick is hilarious and has some great music!!!

Just to pile on... These three movies rank up in the top 5 BEST movies ever made! They are NOT crappy. You take that back!

there any difference betwwen crappy and dud?
van't help thinking of meyer's GURU.

I think crappy movies still get some basic cable airtime or have some cult following like Rocky Horror or Boondock Saints. They may have been a dud at the theater but did well on TV/cable/VHS/DVD.

A real dud would be something like Knight Moves with Christopher Lambert or The Final Countdown with Kirk Douglas. Both surprisingly good movies but a dud on all levels.

HAHA! remo williams!!!!!! i thought i was the only one who ever saw that movie. ive never met anyone before who even knew it existed.

" You move like a pregnant Yak"!!!!

Now you have met two. :D

I've watched that movie many a time and stiil like it. :o

I liked the one with Fred Ward better than the one made for TV.

aaah...like that dud 1997 Batman and Robin movie with a crappy Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Another bad movie I like and have watched a number of times. :D

ALL the Rocky movies.

The first one may be a little better than the rest, but it really doesn't matter all that much which one you choose from them, after you've finished watching the movie, you ARE gonna get a serious energy boost and feel like training really hard.

There's just something about boxing movies..
