crawford etcher questions

I've put together the things as listed on Chris's website, and am reading through the wiring steps. While he gives a diagram of the rectifier and numbers the posts, how does one ell which post is the no. 1 post? Also, is the dpdt switch numbered 1,2,3 on one side and 3,4,5 on the other?

The rectifier should be marked with a +(DC pos), -(DC neg) and two ~(AC)

Id guess the switch is
1 4
2 5
3 6
But you should check with a multimeter. Must have tool anyway.

Use one of these rectifiers instead:

The middle pins in a DPDT switch are input, the two on either end are switched output.
