Crawford knives

Just took receipt of my Crawford Mini-Kasper and Covert Operations. While the CO's were very well done, they just didn't appeal to me and I returned them to Pat. However, the Mini-Kasper was outstanding. I loved it! It was such a great design, that I'm having Pat Crawfor create a "dress" version for when I'm in a suit. Mastodon tusk grip, satin finished Damascus blade and matching bolster. Some etching/smithwork, but nothing very busy. (I've noticed that many knives are a conglomeration of colors, etchings and filework--very busy, not my thing.) The important thing is I've found my knifesmith in Pat, and design in the Kasper. I'll look around for more stuff, but I've finally found the start to my knife collection. Welcome to the hobby, huh?

Found this topic through a search. I have a KFF with ti and stag overlays comming in on Monday. I have had several of Pat's knives and found them all to be well designed and well constructed. Can hardley wait!

BTW you can see it on Pats web page. Look under Knives for immediate delivery. Its the first one!

Just got my Crawford Shark sent all the way round to my part of the planet and have been sepnding some time playing around with it.

For me, its a perfect size for carry with a 3.5" blade and an OAL of 8 3/4". Feels hefty but balances well in the hand. Lockup is precise and solid - held up through several rounds of spine whacks and blade twisting after stabbing it through cardboard. Scary sharp edges right out of the sheath too.

Only found one minus: the serrations on the blade spine are a tad too aggresive, with sharply pointed edges. Tends to catch on the sheath and is pretty rough on the thumb. Easily fixed by some sanding, though.

Alright,
done some more saling and trading. Now have a Crawford Covert Operator comming my way. I am not familar with this model and guess it must be a new one. I really like the shape of the blade and the handle. Got it form www.Knifeart.com Its under Crawfords knives. Anybody out there got one? If so, whats your opinion? Looks like a perfect size, 3.5" blade, 8.0" oal, and 5oz. in weight. Thanks.

Artsig--Nice Crawford knife you've ordered! Took a look at it on his web site. I have him making me a custom mini-Kasper with Mastodon tusk handle. Looking forward to it next month.
