Didn't want to threadjack so I'll continue here.

It was the steel they used before the MAP increase and there was an issue in getting M390. They switched to CTS-204P on the CF models, its basically the USA equivalent to M390. Some people prefer M390 over CTS-204P, but honestly the avg user will never see the difference. M390 is just more desirable for collectors since its rare and now discontinued.

Here is the chart if your curious.

Now if your asking the difference between M390 and ElMax, M390 & CTS-204P are the better steel, not by much tho. Either or will suffice with cutting cardboard and phone books.

Like I said in my previous post, if you love the 0562 the next step is to get a 0392... Here is my pimped 0562(poor mans 0392) next to my 0392brngld. Both similar in size and weight.

I am one of the lucky ones able to get my hands on the 0392brngld. I love it BUTTT I am considering to jump ship to the 0562 as seen above and have money left over for potentially funding another knife. I like the fact that for about the same price as the MSRP of the 0392 I would be able to fully customize to whatever anodization I want and full Ti hardware and same size, flipping action, blade material.

I'm impartial to the the blade shape of the 0392. I know I can somewhat customize the 0392 but I'd rather not, the factory specs truly are beautiful.

My other ZT knife is the 0566 and I'm not a multiple knife kind of guy. The only other knife I can own at the same time is a more classic streamlined knife like the CRK sebenza.

So... Am I crazy?

Not crazy at all! It's all about whatever makes YOU happy. Not only that, but you selling the 0392BRNGLD will make someone else very happy! Win-win!

Your knives, carry what you want. I have more expensive knives, but I've actually been carrying my aluminum handled Kershaw Link lately. Fancy custom knives & I'm rocking my new $39 beater. Your decision makes perfect sense to me. An expensive knife that doesn't get carried is a sad thing to me. Sell/Trade it to get something you'll use & enjoy.
