top -- 21.5 inch, 27 ounce very nice Gelbu Special by Kumar. Beautifully fullered and great handle with six yingyang inlays. See pix. Can't believe Pala is letting this one go for 1/2 price + shipping -- which adds up to $100 delivered to your door. UBBB

center -- Cute little balance model by Kumar, 14 inches and 15 ounces of very quick khukuri. Very good work by Kumar. Scrollwork straight and even, brass inlay nicely done. Good handle as usual. Yours for $60.

bottom -- 17 inch 27 ounce Chiruwa AK by Sher. All the famous Sher features including the "almost convex" edge. Hairline crack in handle that doesn't need any fix yet but might. This knife ought to last 200 years with no problem. Take it home for $75.

As I understand it Kis, the balance model is a breed unto itself, wasp waisted, and very quick in the hand. That's about all I know about it, but I'd sure appreciate anybody that can add to my and Kis' education regarding the "balance khukuri".

Yep, that's it Sarge.;) I like mine for when I'm able to get into my jeans as it will fit in the right front pocket quite handidly. It makes for a good concealed weapon as well as a very usable tool when out around sheeple.
The reason it's called a "balance model" is that the knife will balance both from right to left and from point to
butt.
All you have to do to take away any fright of it is too balance it one a stick or, if you're really brave, a finger.:)
Then the sheeple say, "Well isn't that cute or unique." and then you can teach them the difference between weapon and tool.
It's not a heavy duty chopper, but does work well for its size.
I've chopped 1" to 2" Ash for Pipe Stems in very thick thickets where only myself had permission to do so.
Almost all of the main City Park employees know me and let me do things others would be busted for.

I think it may fulfill the kitchen duties you wanted a little bit bigger knife than the Bilton for.

Thanks Yvsa, it looks like a good little "walking khuk" for strolls in the woods where you really hadn't planned on cutting a new hiking stick, etc., but just might have to. That, and kitchen/yard duty, will make it my new toting khuk. Not too big, not too little, just right. 'Course it won't displace my darn near mystical Bura 15" Siru hanging from the bedpost.;)

Research? Mostly a chance to rip off another khuk is what it sounds like to me. Glad I don't have any M-43's:) :D
