18 inch 2 pound AK by the Whiz Kid. Can't find anything wrong to comment on. Overall rig fine work. Usual Crazy Pala deal of 1/2+shipping = $85

Usual Bura work -- 10/10 AK 18 inches and 30 ounces. Only thing wrong with the entire rig is the hole in the scabbard. It is covered by the frog but I pulled the frog down so you could see the defect. Fill the hole with black rubber cement or use as it. Guaranteed for life. At 1/2+shipping = $85 it's still an UBBB

18 inch 34 ounce AK by Kumar. This one was sent back by a new customer who said he couldn't sharpen it. Edge needs five minutes to get it razor sharp. 10/10 rig. At $85 another UBBB.

Another 18 inch 31 ounce AK by the Whiz kid that came back because new customer couldn't sharpen it. The Kid has this edge hardened up to maybe 61 Rc and it's going to take a little skill to get it sharpened which should be no problem for our experts here. $85 takes it home.

Call or email.

Now let's see if I can post rather than erase the pix.

Posted while I was complaining about no third deal yesterday.

An 18" horn-handled Bura AK would be a heckuva way to start the habit. :)

Edit: ...and wow, look at the wood on that Kumar handle!

He was lurking this morning. Hopefully he'll score one of them before it's too late.

Running late today because of DSL problems which are continuing. Keep getting disconnected and can't get back on. Maybe I should have stayed with dial up.

WarDawg-- these all look like great AK's. I have an 18" by Shanker, the whiz kid, and it's one of my favorites. I have a 25" by Kumar, also a great blade, and I don't think you can go wrong with anything by Bura. Pick the one that "speaks" to you the most and go for it!

You can't go wrong with any of them. Pick which weight you would prefer, there is a bit of range there.

WD,

If you're not expert at sharpening, you might want to avoid the bottom 2. Someone's already had problems in that area.

Other than that, there ain't a bad one in the bunch.

If I were going to purchase one, my personal choice would be the third one down by Kumar, just because I can imagine what that handle would look like after some sanding and a dozen or so coats of Tru Oil. However, that doesn't mean that's the right one for you;)

I like the shape of the Bura. The Kumar handle has some nice lookin' grain. The handles by the "whiz kid" look a little larger for those with big mitts.

Dunno.. pick the one that "looks right".

Take two and compare them side by side, I would bet anything that they all feel different in the hand. I have two 18" AKs by Bura and they are different and their weights are less than an ounce difference. Which ever one calls to you is yours.

They're all winners. My observation: every Bura blade I've ever recieved arrived razor-sharp in the box.
