I just thought I'd share this strange thing with you that Maisy does, I still don't know exactly what she is trying to do ?

This was where we went today.....

First she enters the water.....

Then she finds the right spot....

And then she does this and all I get is bubbles !!!

She would spend hours doing this if I let her !!!

Does anyone else's dog have this strange habit ?

Thats funny my pup used to do that same thing. Except he used to come out of the water with a rock everyonce in a while.. All the rocks he had were about the same size. Sometimes he would find just the right rock and wont let it go. I figured he was just rock hunting or what ever else he found intresting under water. Sometimes he would get his head from under water and there would be water comming out of his nose. Does Maisy do that too??? Next time take a big stick that you think she might like. Push one end of it into the bottom. See what she does when she finds it..

That's hilarious.

My maniac dog does that also. She goes under then pops up shakes the crap out of her head then goes back under it's the funniest thing.

My dog is deathly afraid of water, so I don't think I'll ever see him do that. Whenever we go on hikes with river crossings, we just let him go first since he is guaranteed to find the quickest and easiest way across.

Speaking of strange behavior, a guy at work brings his dog to work and she has been rubbing her butt on me every time I get near her. I push her away, and she just comes back and does it again. It's just me though, not anyone else there. I thought it might be my male dog that she is smelling, but three other guys have male dogs as well. I am starting to think she has the hots for me.

My dog does that in his water bowl and the bathtub when its bath time. Mainly its when a piece of food of his falls in and he goes dog treat bobbing.

storl = disturbing and hilarious at the same time! :barf:

dogs can sense pheremones better than we can...but I doubt that's it. Just the dog's strange way of greeting. Since you don't like it...(no kiddin)...either ignore the dog completely or next time it comes over, offer it a treat away from you...unless it rubs you, then no treat. Sometimes rewarding an unrelated behavior will help the dog "forget" the unwanted behavior.

Great pics, pitdog!

She's hunting!! My Jessie digs holes (like most terriers..and many dogs)...but she is neither bored, nor outdoors for long periods of time. She is hunting moles...!!

Izabelle, my German Shorthair will wade out knee deep when we're trout fishing and come up to a perfect point. Makes me optimistic about fish I can't see even with good glasses. The only bad part is I seldom catch one when she's on point.

She found Jimmy Hoffa's body!!!!

Pitdog, I love your picture threads. Beautiful shots, interesting subjects!

I think you should get her some snorkeling gear.
