Here is a crazy question for the ABS guys. If you pass the performance test for JS, do you have to have a "reservation" adead of time to present your knives at Blade? The rules don't seem to indicate that you do.

Yes. You need to contact Jan DuBois and let her know you are testing.

You have to wait 6 months to redo the performance test if you fail.... so either be really confident or do it long before the show! :) You have three years from the time you pass the performance test until you have to present the 5 knives in Hotlanta.

This is a crazy question for a crazy idea. IF I can get tested in the next two weeks and pass, I am thinking about doing what amounts to a "walk-on" this year instead of waiting for next year. That whacko enough for ya?:D So the question is will 3-4 weeks be sufficient notice? lol As for failing the performance test, that is not a prob. I would do it again in October and go forward with my original plan to present in '09.

Can't do it Joe.

You've posted way too many times that you were waiting until 2009!!! ;) :p

Just kidding. I think it would be okay, but don't tell Jan I said that! :)

I told her in Reno that I was doing it, which was about 4 months. Her only response was, "Are you REALLY going to do it this year young man???" ..... with that fine Houston accent :D

I think the main reason for them knowing is so that Jan knows how many certificates to bring to the show.

I'll have my fingers crossed for you Joe!!!

Yeah, I had better order me a pile of EDM stones to clean up that infamous "last scratch" up at the plunge line:D
