Creamsicle

If the duracoat will hold up to batonning, then I wouldn't have a second thought about having you put a design on a small knife like an 11/14 or 13, or even a heavy chopper if it would hold it, but I don't want to pay to make it look nice if it won't stay....

Is this the first time you've duracoated zytel ? I was wondering how well that would hold up . Great job man looks great as usual.

I'd say significantly more than the old coating, probably less than the new, if you go by how difficult the new one is to remove with the sandblaster.
Wow, that's pretty impressive then. Thanks for the answer.

Cool Bro! What kind of blasting do you do? I used to be a blaster at the shipyard I used to work at...

These days it's a cabinet with Diamond-something I pick up at Tractor Supply that's a black abrasive that I understand is ground up scrapings from commercial smoke stacks. RUn it at about 90 psi. Cuts well, doesn't last too long before breaking down, but it is really cheap. I also have a sandblasting setup for bigger outdoor stuff like tractor engine/frame/axles for tractors that I've restored, but haven't needed to use it in a while.

I've done some Tweener Zytel, but I haven't punished them all that hard. Seems to get a really good bite in the plastic, though. Works great on Grivory.

i'd say od handle scales and a coyote blade or maybe a tiger stripe type finish...

You mean like 'at??? :D

Damn! Color washed out in this photo. The handle is actually really dark OD and the blade is a definite coyote tan. Top photo is closer to reality.

And while I had the camera out... BK15 going out to a customer:

Yeah, it was raining...

Here's a couple of pics of my 9, Dura Coated by K-9. Now, I haven't cut through a jungle, but I've put it to some decent use and even dropped it, but that's common for me.

So yes it will wear a little. Now, if you like pristine, Dura Coat might not be for you. Personally I like to see wear in a coating, gives it character.

And K-9's work is beyond talented. Plus the handles when coated feel great in hand, it's not going anywhere.

Well, these photos made me really want a creamsicle.

Good thing I some in my freezer. Good job on that knife! it looks REALLY good.

Nice, when I get an 11 I think I'm gonna ship it to you and have you dura coat it before it gets to my house....Then all I need to do is find a kydex sheath to match it.
