Great photographic creations with a beautiful subject (Oeser), John:thumbup::thumbup: Always a pleasure to see your work!!

Don't miss the pictures Gary just put up, for those not entering we are grouping photos with first post.

We're very lucky to have some extremely talented photographers here in Traditionals, including you Gev. I can't count myself in this group, but I enjoy looking through the photographic threads. This is a great idea for a giveaway, and we're already seeing some great pics. Thanks Mr G. Also, of course, for your generosity, both here and always. Not an entry, but I just wanted to say thank you Gev for all you bring to this place :)

Hiya Duncan:)
Great pics! Are those taken in the Waipoua Forest? My wife and I visited N Zed several yrs ago and spent a day trekking around Waipoua Forest looking at the Kauri trees. Lot of fun and a beautiful place

Just a quick one to contribute to the community.

Here is another quicky at sunset

Welcome to the forum. Awesome Opinel. The worn wood handle really looks at home amongst the seasonal leaves on the ground.

Not an entry, but wanted to share a nice seasonal picture. Sorry for the poor quality, I used my phone.

I'll throw one up for consideration
Some tough competition here though :)

My friend - no it wasn't, New Zealand bush can fool you like that - this was taken in a Bush walk probably 5 minutes away from my house - its down in a Gully alongside the waterfront in Howick, East Auckland.
I am glad you went away with pleasant memories of our Lovely Paradise we live in - in this part of the world.

Hi there John, its so good to see you posting, please forgive my lack of contact - I am snowed under right now with work - long hours and 6 days a week!
Tha is one lovely knife-so well photographed - as per usual

I love taking photos of knives on wood, mainly because the materials used on the knives of most Traditionals are either Ebony, Bone, Stag etc so they compliment each other immensely.
What I strive to do - and its ever so painful is to manoeuvre the wood & knife, then I must look like a lunatic to the neighbours while I twist and bob up and down trying to get the light perfect so it highlights the Swedge - and if possible try to have only a wee bit of setting sunlight sneaking in on the Bone - trying to achieve all this - well to me is very hard.
I think this photos covers all of my angles I am trying to capture in the one picture.......

I really wanted to keep this one simple - Beautiful Dark Ebony wood scales on the knife - and the old weathered grain on the wood the knife sits on to me is a great hand-in-hand compliment to each other - and having that lovely fresh colour just coming in over the knife...
