I recently purchased my first Custom Fixed Blade. I had a post up asking for advice because I was looking to buy a good fixed blade but having trouble picking out the perfect knife for me. I received an Email from CrimsonFalcon07 asking if I would like him to make me one. I wasnt too sure about this because I know some customs are very expensive and Ive read horror stories about people getting ripped off or having to wait for YEARS before getting their knives. Well CF07 told me I didnt have to pay a penny until he was finished and my knife was ready to ship, which gave me the confidence to say yes and start the process. He also updated me regularly with work in progress pictures and telling me what was next. He did an amazing job, he made the knife exactly like I drew it, and it came out looking very sexy. It feels amazing in my hand, its nice and solid and has a great balance. He made me a sheath of my choice and made it Tek-Lok acceptable. And he did all this for a very affordable price. Great communication from a very friendly and talented knife maker, WIP pictures, my choice of knife shape/size/material, my choice of handle material, and an amazing price! Not to mention he did all this in about a month! Thanks again CrimsonFalcon07!

Glad to hear you're liking the blade. I had a lot of fun working on the project with you. Please let me know if you have any issues with the knife as you use it, and any feedback on how I can improve!

I appreciate the chance to work on this project. Best,

Nick

Oh yeah it feels great in my hand. It is an amazing knife. By far the best fixed blade I have ever owned. I would highly recommend CrimsonFalcon07, he makes it exactly how you want it, asks for your opinion during the process, and has amazing communication and results. In my case, when he was working on it he would send me pictures along with updates and ask if I wanted anything changed, which I did (just the size of the choil) and he had no problem accommodating my needs. Thanks again CrimsonFalcon07! I will definitely keep you in mind next time I, or any of my friends, need a fixed blade!

Thanks very much for the feedback and recommendations. It was a real pleasure working with you.

I'm pretty sure those are my pictures (and my hand?) though, just in case people are wondering. That floor looks awfully familiar, anyways :) I'm glad to hear that the handle is as comfortable to you as it is to me. I designed it for a medium/large hand, but I can adapt the design for bigger or smaller hands.

A few details on this one:

Bocote handle scales (removable, so if the wood shrinks or warps, I can always send out some G10 or micarta ones or replace the bocote, if you need, Ares).
1095 steel from Aldo, heat treated to 59 HRC by Darrin Sanders (another really stand-up fellow to deal with, for those of you who don't want to do your own HT).

I'm a hobbyist maker, so for me, the process of working with a customer to make the blade that they want is much of the fun. And of course, watching the sparks fly!

Yes those are your pictures. LoL. I dont have any good pictures yet, due to my camera deciding it doesnt want to work. (I probably should have asked before posting though, my bad.)

I actually have a weird shaped hand (short fingers/fat palm) but it still fits my hand like a glove, CrimsonFalcon07 really knows what hes doing. It feels perfect in every grip, and I love how it feels great to choke up on and to get a good secure puchase for chopping. This knife is only about 10 inches ish overall, but feels like it can chop like a machete. It is nice and solid, feels like a tank. I cant wait to put this badass into action.

BTW: I finally got my clip for it, the Mini Tek-Lok works perfectly with the sheath, it even allows for horizonal with the edge down on my back (my favorite position), or diagonal on my front hip (between my left front pocket and my belt buckle) for easy access with my right and left hands.
