started in the early nineties looking for the best survivial knife out there, that could be used for combat, chopping, and generally anything that could thrown at it while in the boonies. My dentist put me onto Busse, which he had read about in S.O.F. magazine. I picked up a Steel heart II. it was very basic in design, wasn't as pretty as my Al mars or SOGs.. but when I got it to the field, man, could it chop, clear areas, make shelters, rafts, etc... and STAY SHARP! My friend then all wanted one.. ordered more... and for many years, I never looked for another knife. Then one day I wanted to see what Busse was doing, looked up their website, which was a new concept; and found out that they were about to come out with a ASH1, when it came out, I jumped back into Busse knives and wanted a few more "survival" knives, then came the GAnzaas, and I then decided to buy some "pretty" one as pieces of art... excellent feel, great design...
So> from survival need, to just plain collecting knives for their beauty and feel.
