Critique my pattern please

Yep some good folks around here.

I got ahead of myself and glued in the welt.

Then I glued the sheath closed.

Things seemed to fit well...

Hmm, when do I do the belt loop?

!!

So I got it pried apart before the glue set up so I'll let it dry for the night and get the belt loop and some basic stamping done tomorrow.

Hey bud, I've had to take down a couple of sheaths. Even after stitching it's not that bad, you just need to use a very sharp and thin blade and be careful.

Write down your steps then follow them. I've got something like 40 steps for a simple pouch sheath and those omit the most basic things that I couldn't possibly forget like final finishing and probably a dozen others.

Glad to hear you were able to separate it easily. Usually the parts are put together after they've dried and can't easily be separated without cutting.
 
Yes a checklist is the way to go. I have a couple knives to finish up and one chef blade to hand sand but I should be able to get cranking on it again this weekend.
