Crk dvd

DallasSTB,
Please add me to the list.
As you might remember, I now own one of your sebbies.
John

Ok. I'll email Spark and see if it's ok to do a passaround just in the forum or if I have to stick it in the main passaround sub-form. Will let you guys know what he says. In any event, I'll give everyone here a head start on the sign up list - just because.

Has anyone checked to see whether CRK expects more of these? (Obviously, I haven't ;) )

Edit: never mind, looks like the call was already made. Odd...

I would also like to borrow/purchase a copy. Please PM or e-mail me if you can help.

For those wondering, the DVD is no longer available from CRK so the only way to see it is to borrow/purchase an existing copy.

i'd like to get in on this as well. would love to see how these great knives are made

DallasSTB - You're awesome man! Thanks so much for all the information and helping us out with this. I can't wait to watch the DVD.

On a related note, I called CRK today and asked if they had any in stock. As everyone already confirmed, they have not ordered more DVD's at this point. I did get the impression though that they are trying to decide between creating a new version or just sticking with the original.

I haven't heard back from Spark yet to confirm that this is OK per BF rules, but will let you guys know what he says.

Just so that everyone's expectations will be moderated, this DVD was made by a Taiwan production company in 2006 (I believe). The production, while quite informative, does lean to the "cheesy" side of things and features some processes that have since been redesigned. It was also shot in CR's old facility. If CR is considering an update, then hopefully these new techiques and processes will be included, and some of the cheese removed. It's is still worth seeing IMO, but everyone should be ready to enjoy the '80's techno-funk soundtrack included. After you watch the Sebenza's being built, I doubt you'd ever call these things overpriced again!

Gotta keep Fooj in there though! I'd insist on that (sorry brother ;)).

Not to take any of the wind out of this excellent and very generous pass-around offer, but I think there is at least one CRK dealer who still has a copy or two for sale. If you are interested in calling the dealer, send me an email (not a pm) to newellj at gmail and I'll point you in the right direction. No guarantees that availability hasn't changed but if you're interested it might be worth the call.

DallasSTB - Thanks for the generous offer. Please add me to your pass around list.

I may have a lead on an extra copy. If it pans out, I would be willing to add it to the pass around.

I haven't heard back from Spark (or any other mod for that matter), so I guess this will be a case of asking forgiveness rather than permission if questioned later.

So, please be on the watch for a new thread for the passaround sometime later today or tomorrow.

I have one that you all can pass around if you like.

Hey Matt - thanks for the offer. Let's start with mine until someone gets it buggered up, then I might call on you.

BTW everyone, Spark gave his  on this little exercise, so I'll post a new thread today for the sign up.
