CRK Flipper?

I had been flipping my Reate Hills for a while and then picked up my large 21 and my finger sort of automatically went to flip it open which got me thinking about a CRK flipper.

Is such a knife ever likely to happen, do you think? I'm sort of a newbie to the CRK thing (I only have the one CRK knife so far) so I thought I'd ask you experts.

It seems like the legendary CRK tolerances and attention to detail would make for a great flipper if they made one.

I don't think it will ever happen. CRK marches to their own music and aren't into the latest and greatest fad. They stick with what works and has been proven. Of course, that's just my opinion

Flippers to me are stupid and serve no real purpose other than to take up space in your pocket, and prove to your friends you are truly a geek. If CRK had to poor taste to make one, I would not buy it.

It's my hope they don't go down the flipper road. The tab on most flippers just look plain ugly, IMO.

Im neutral on the flipper. I don't want or need one, but I do not seem to have the disdain that some here apparently have for them.

That said, I would guess tthat Chris is not a fan of them based on his proclaimed stance on flicking knives. It just seems that he is in the camp that believes a controled and guided deployment of the blade from start to finish is better than a kinetic opening...and for what it is worth, a controlled smooth deployment is equally fast in getting the edge from your pocket to cutting something.

A sure sign C.R. has lost his mind :)

From my reading he is not a flipper fan, nor am I
I have nothing against those that like flippers, though I can't see why.

So, it sounds like the general consensus is that you all think we'll be seeing a CRK flipper soon and you're all super eager to buy one! :P

Ive come across a handful of companies/makers that make fantastic flippers. Id love to see ANYTHING new from CRK, but like everyone above has mentioned, i think Mr Chris is against making stuff like that.

I already asked Chris awhile back and he laughed and said NO. He is about innovating and inventing new designs, not rehashing old ones. So no flippers or slip joints.

+1 on what most have said.

I like CRK's because they don't make those sort of knives. I've had many, many knives over the last 20+ years. Manuals, flippers, side-autos, OTF's, etc... CRK knives are like nothing I've ever seen before. Not saying they're better, just different than any others I've ever seen or owned.

They are truly the standard of EDC knives because they stay away from all that "other stuff" and stick to what they do best: making CRK knives the ways Chris wants them made, as well as the ways he doesn't.

Without insulting anyone's preferences I'd consider a CRK flipper as a sign of selling out. Maybe those words are dramatic but you catch my drift.

I cant stand flippers, its part of what turned me off about ZT, other than their rediculous "limited editions" and "factory customs" along with the gougers flipping the flippers on fleabay and the exchange.
Please CRK if youre reading this, do not make a flipper.

I have no problems with flippers but I like my Sebenzas like they are. I like the variety. Sebenzas on some days and a Jasmine on other days. Throw in an XM every once I a while.

Here's my normal EDC rotation. Have a 25 in case I feel like a larger knife, but for everyday tasks I find these are large enough.

Heck yeah! A flippered recurve blade assisted opening camouflaged deaths head laden "king of the mall ninjas" special with toxic green zombie killer inlays! :barf:

I,also, have no disdain for flippers, I own a couple, but I would not care for one from CRK.
