With the start of every new year brings a lot of hopes, desires and goals to all of our lives, and with a new incoming gov't administration, it can be an exciting or frustrating time in our lives. For us in the knife world we dream of new designs, steels and materials. Here is a list of things I would like to see come from CRK in 2017. I hope you all will share yours.

1. The re-introduction of the Annual Sebenza. The annuals were a very popular, limited run of knives with special inlays and I would love to see it brought back. Even in the form of the current inlay design, some limited edition woods would be special.

2. Carbon fiber Mnandi. No explanation needed. I'm not the world's biggest Mnandi fan, but I would buy one.

3. Either get Raindrop Damascus back to the old, tight pattern or replace it with something different. Seriously, the large smudges and lack of a true pattern on most of the current Raindrop is terrible. I just received in the last few days a knife I have had on order for quite a while, and the damascus is awful. Please get this corrected. PLEASE!

4. This is one that will frustrate a lot of people. Update the 21. The current design has been around since 2010 or maybe even late 2009. How about a ceramic ball in the lock bar, large lanyard pins that can remain in the knife without a lanyard, eliminate the machining hole and give a little room on the lock side for those with double thumb lugs?

5. Limited edition runs of damascus. Lets get back to those special patterns such as "Reptilian", "Bubblewrap", etc. I'd be all for ordering a knife with something that sets it apart from what everyone else has.

These are just my opinions and I'm sure some will think I'm crazy, but I look forward to hearing what others would like to see in this upcoming, exciting new year.

I'd like to see some of the retired CCG's be brought back for limited runs. You know, the ones that are most sought after.

SNIPPED

When I was at Chris Reeve Knives earlier this week, there was talk about some great things happening in the next year or so.
While they are always welcoming, information on what this may be, is always a tightly held secret.
If there is one piece of good news for the upcoming year, this is definitely something to look forward to!

I really like #4. I have a double lug and it would be nice to have a notch on the other side. But, if you didnt have double lugs then the lock side would look wierd with that extra notch.

Amen on all the points you mention ninja.

My thoughts:
- Bring back a run of the Regulars... they have the tooling so it is an easy refresh.
- Offer other colors of canvas micarta as inlays on the 21
- A sleeker/form fitting horizontal belt sheath
- Limited run of the Lock 45
- Version of the new box that fits in the USPS small flat rate (ok that is selfish)
- A real lightsaber, green or blue blade is fine... (Bhyde would want a red one)

I like your list! To add my own 'wishes' for2017;

#1: Insingo Mnandi!
#2: Large Mnandi!
#3: Green Beret or Pacific with no serrations.

Happy New year everyone!

I'd like to see a thinner blade stock sebenza similar to that of the mnandi... maybe a tad bit thicker.

Like a larger umfaan.

I like the 21 the way it is. It's as close as we can get to the sebenzas of yesteryear. In my opinion the older sebenzas are far superior to the Inkosi and 25 Sebenza even. They are not even true sebenzas though the 25 has Sebenza in the title.
They are simple and that's what has always made the Sebenza special.

For annuals, I would like a One piece inlay 21. Please DONT do it on an Inkosi...!!!

How could I have forgotten the new giant boxes? I 100% agree that they should fit in a small flat-rate box!
Perhaps some Shadetree micarta inlays? That would be some nice eye-candy.

I think the ceramic ball lock would be a nice improvement to the 21. From my experience it is close to impervious to lock stick.

Very good suggestions so far. I would like to see:

1. Bring back the Regulars!
2. Stonewashed Handles.
3. Standardize double thumb lugs. On all models.
4. Another one for the Large 21 lanyard pin being fixed. Like the small 21.
5. Inlaid umnumzaan

Seriously though, stonewashed Titanium handles would be very nice.

A Tanto Large Inkosi maybe a damascus model thrown in
Some more of those awesome damascus blades in colours that i have seen around ie blue
+1 for double thumb lugs as standard on all knives
Option of anodised handles on all knives

I hope we get the introduction of a 4-5" woods bumming fixed blade, less focused on skinning than the Nyala, and more on woodcraft. Maybe a less angry-looking version of the umkhombe?

If CRK makes a Large Micarta Inlaid Insingo Inkosi it would be the last knife I'd ever need to buy.

This was my line of thinking. It would nearly eliminate lock stick and it works well on the 25/Inkosi

NNNOOOOOOOOOOO Ceramic Ball On The 21. 😑

What would be the argument for the current lock face vs. the ceramic ball? I know you've been around CRK's longer than I have so I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

The re-introduction of the One Piece range (in CPM3V for exemple) . :)

Two words: Damascus Insingo!

Would love to see the brown/natural micarta for inlay options on the 21's... I emailed CRK last week and here was their response to the question:

Hello Bryan,

The natural canvas Micarta is currently unavailable in the Sebenza 21. We do not have any plans to offer this option as of now.

Have a great day.
