CRK late/sticky lock up fix?

Thanks! Is there a "V" on the blade by the pivot hole? Mine has a S30V birth card and a S35vn blade. It's at CRK right now for a new blade.

Can you see the v without taking the blade off? I've not opened this one up yet.

That's S30v then. Maybe it's original to the knife?? It was just a thought.

The lock stick can be from a poor heat treat of the lockbar face. If it's made it this long though, I doubt that is the case. One would think that would have been taken care of by now.

The graphite is only a temporary solution. My only advice would be to give it a good cleaning and see if the stick goes away in due time. If not, I'd consider sending it in. My $.02 anyhow.

Thanks Corskin...when I got it open discovered it's a mess. I'll work on it and see what happens.

At 90%, I've never seen that u tube method work, but if it were 70 ish, yes. I've done it with several Sebs, and they do stay around 50ish.
Good luck.

this needs to be bumped, that youtube procedure saved me from worrying over late lock up.

I dunno, the early/late lockup doesn’t realIy matter to me. I don’t worry about it, though I have seen a lot of fretting on the web which made me wonder if I should worry...CRK makes them lock up deep. That has always seemed to bother people, I guess because they feel like they will wear the lock out. I suppose if I had one move to lockup really late it could get hard to get my thumb in to disengage? At that point I’d feel a little pride for wearing out my knife and probably send it in.

Seems like putting the knife in a bind during assembly would be a temporary band-aide. Can’t see how it hurts anything but I image it works itself back to its natural spot with use.

The only lock stick I have had would occur if I got lube on the lock face. Happened multiple times. I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and that fixed it. I know there are other reasons for lock stick.
