CRK MagnaCut vs S45VN

CRK offers satin blades on the wood inlays last time I checked. It might be an upgrade option.

Polished in an upgrade now in both the blade and the handles..

Tried to order Insingo but there is no option for Magnacut.Maybe when my order is ready that steel will be the standard option.

Unfortunately the problem is that by the time CRK decided to switch to Magnacut, actually gets production going with Magnacut, and then has enough production out that I can actually get one, Larrin will have invented Megacut or something.

I put in an order for an Insingo. My understanding is that all Insingo 31s will be Magnacut as they did not order any in S45. I know CRK uses a third party for heat treat, maybe they use a third party to cut the blades as well?

Regardless, it's a shame they don't offer the polished blade or handles on the Insingo yet for no apparent reason.

Probably true!

Anybody have experience with both steels from CRK? I just picked up a large 31 Insingo in Magnacut (which I'm excited to put into use for a while, then send it in for glass-blasting), and I'm curious how people feel it has compared to the S45VN.

I mainly cut boxes and food, I literally can't tell the two steels apart but for some reason magnacut gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I think one of the greatest advantages of Magnacut is it’s incredible corrosion resistance while having great edge retention
And wear resistance. It is also supposedly relatively easy to sharpen based on what I’ve read. Some steels, like S125are a pain to sharpen
