Noticed that all Sebenza 31 tanto and Insingo blades are listed as Magnacut.
Kinda got me excited. I hope they start pumping them out soon.
Heat treat seems good as well and they announced a couple new knives.....

What new knives did they announce?

That’s awesome. Damn, their wait times are 18-24 mo for the drop point plain and tba for the insingo on the website

Awesome. I'd like a magnacut umnumzaan in the next 5 years but even the s45vn version is impossible to buy from a dealer.

Don't be surprised if Chris Reeve standardizes on Magnacut... even for the fixed blades, where they have just started making the fixed blades from CPM 4V.

I believe Tim Reeve stated his intention to move all the knives to magnacut.
... he said that at Blade Show, 2021 (more than hinted at it). Tim indicated that having one steel would simplify metallurgical identification in their shops.

My words now ==> But much more importantly, Magnacut can be heat treated to be as tough as CPM 4V and Cruwear at similar hardnesses (so it is suitable for most fixed blade applications), whilst being very stainless, and being in the same league with M390 in abrasive edge wear. That's quite a performance triangle.

As popular as M390 currently is, based on lab and field results, Magnacut should be just as popular, given a few more years of real knife-world experience. Plus Larrin gave it a "name" and not a number. And... it's made in USA.

I wish I'd invented it!

Sidenote: I'm amazed how many of the big production manufacturers have already released a blade in Magnacut. The performance trend is clear.

He said in a podcast I listened to that they should have everything switched over to MagnaCut by the end of this year.
Ah, great... thanks for the heads-up. A link to said podcast would be appreciated.

Here is a link to Big Brown Bear's 5 minute interview with Tim.

I was lucky to score a small 31 w. the Insingo blade in Magnacut. Over the last few days I cut three 25M old climbing ropes into skipping ropes and demolished a bunch of outdated climbing harnesses too with the knife (I work in a climbing gym). I gotta say that I am highly impressed with both the blade and steel. I cant really tell any difference between before and after all this cutting. Good stuff.

Thats great! Im interested to try the stuff out. I was impressed with CRKs s45vn. I can edc my knife for like a month and it will still shave. It wont shave great but it'll still do it. Pretty impressive.

I’m interested in that backpacker, anyone seeing the magnacut backpackers drop?
